Ingeborghus is a unique holiday home in true seaside-hotel style, designed by the renowned architect Ulrik Plesner and built in 1920 by journalist and author Jens Ervø for his fiancée, Ingeborg Larsen. The house’s distinctive architecture, with its central wing, two short side wings and red hipped tile roof, immediately evokes associations with classic seaside hotels along the West Coast.

Inside, the house offers a large, bright living room in open connection with the well-equipped kitchen – a natural gathering point for cosy meals, board games and relaxing evenings by the fireplace. The layout also includes two modern bathrooms, one with a small corner spa, three bedrooms on the ground floor and two charming bedrooms on the first floor, as well as a spacious entrance hall with room for both a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Comfort has been considered throughout: water-based underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs ensure a pleasant indoor climate all year round.

Along the entire “sea-facing” side of the house stretches an impressive terrace – a true sanctuary with panoramic views over Skagerrak. Here you can watch the ship traffic passing west of Hirtshals Harbour or let your gaze drift to the horizon where sea and sky merge. The sunset is a chapter of its own. You don’t even need to go down to the beach to enjoy the spectacle; from here it feels as though nature’s grand theatre is performing just for you.

On the opposite side of the house you’ll find additional terraces, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee in the quiet early hours. The surrounding dunes offer shelter, spaciousness and a sense of undisturbed closeness to nature.

The property has a unique curved shape that follows the road and blends harmoniously into Tornby’s rolling dune landscape.
